Metal Detector at Shenzhen Bay Control Point for Immigration Department of Hong Kong
Project Description:
Project Site: Shenzhen Bay Control Point;
Shenzhen Bay Control Point is the Hong Kong counterpart of Shenzhen Bay Port, an entry port in the PRC on the border with Hong Kong commissioned on 1 July 2007.
Shenzhen Bay Control Point is the first boundary control point with the immigration facilities of the Hong Kong side co-located in the same passenger terminal building with the mainland side. Under the co-location arrangement,passengers and vehicles for departure and arrival customs clearance take place within a short distance.
Coach passengers only have to get on and off once instead of twice in going through clearance procedures of the two sides, thereby shortening the clearance time by about 5 to 10 minutes for each traveler. During peak hours (8:30 am to 12:30 pm; 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm), the waiting time for clearance is longer, especially during peak travel seasons, holidays and weekends.
